The duality of France
A message stenciled into the street: “22/11 MANIF FÉMINISTE”. Leaving aside the backward date format, the first word is presumably an abbreviation for “manifestation”, which would make this an advertisement for an upcoming protest, the subject of which is left as an exercise for the viewer. A bronze statue of a female singer and comedian (per the plaque under it). The statue is of her head and torso, and the statue’s breasts (which are 4-5 feet off the ground) have clearly been rubbed raw due to being repeatedly touched. Indeed, shortly before I took this photo a man was doing exactly that. In fairness to the locals, I think that man was British.
