Oh, um. Nefarion could have possibly been the one to create these kinds of drakonids with all his experiments. Since they were put in the game during Cataclysm.

As years went by aka millenia. I'm sure he was known as a war hero and eventual "Betrayer". But it probably all dissolved into legend and myth. Much could probably be said about Malfurion as well since he went to sleep shortly after WotA. Leaving Tyrande the only real one to hold onto the knowledge.
