I think it comes from “a squawk on the radio/airwaves” type phrase. I cant remember exactly but its like a wartime thing i think, hearing the radio squawk means you’re getting info which led to just a general usage of the term day to day for radios and news

- Eddie murder killed Chrissy, Patrick, and Jason

basically what i'm saying is i think this conflict is being written well and its very very believable at their current ages
