also also, health and fitness has pretty nicely matching categories:

snake oil (seller is coping)

I'm not saying they're going away soon, I am saying Elon's innovation/bullshit ratio peaked in like, 2014

they've been selling approximately the same car since I was in high school and the last time they tried something new it flopped. Not even counting sideshows like the diner. Every time I check twitter it's an increasingly buggy mess and all the innovation is going into making a robot racist.

It’s also a refusal to see that there’s been a real divergence between promises and delivery. Tesla is real but badly stagnant, twitter is disintegrating, spacex I guess still has some runway, but for how long?

my most 'Everyone Hated That' opinion is that artists really shouldn't worry about AI so much because good art requires a trillion little decisions made for reasons more meaningful than 'well, that's what the noise diffused into'

(the answer of course is that it's devoid of intentionality and almost certainly over associates 'Simpsons' with the yellow-brown transition of homer's muzzle)

On the plus side, the needed corpus size limits how far you can train your llm away from consensus.

On the other, unlike a recommender, you can kind of browbeat the ai into submission with prompts.

It does a good job of conveying that you’re not entirely sure what’s going on but you for sure know the person you’re talking to is being an ass about it

Stephen Kleene solved this problem 75 years ago and is spinning in his grave that people think they’re smooth now
