they've been selling approximately the same car since I was in high school and the last time they tried something new it flopped. Not even counting sideshows like the diner. Every time I check twitter it's an increasingly buggy mess and all the innovation is going into making a robot racist.

It’s also a refusal to see that there’s been a real divergence between promises and delivery. Tesla is real but badly stagnant, twitter is disintegrating, spacex I guess still has some runway, but for how long?

I think it's borderline absurd to suggest that the average suburban American doesn't have a concept that their living situation could be more or less dense then their current one.
