I'd love to hear/see the story!

We had a bridge get washed away by some flooding last fall 🙃

Always a great night to stream Ian's show! I'll be enjoying the music with at least one whiskey sour.

This is the bed of my truck about 3 and a half years ago going to pick up pork from the processor. The next time we picked up the meat I put the freezers in the livestock trailer and towed it, made things a bit less stressful going up and down I-95 😅

Having your own goats is both great for and terrible for 10pm ice cream cravings 🍽️🍨 #SmallFarmLife

I let those peppers ferment with some onions, carrots, and garlic for almost a full month, strained it all then blended with some apple cider vinegar, a little bit of the fermenting brine, cumin, and coriander. I forgot I was out of bottles though so need to order some more 😅🍽️🌱🌶️🔥

Everything's going to shit, but at least we have baby goats, cats, and the unbridled happiness and curiosity of childhood to keep us going. #GoatSky #SmallFarmLife

It's finally dropping below freezing tonight, so here's the last big haul from our summer garden. The fennel and Thai basil are making the kitchen smell amazing 🌱

While I was under the minivan busting knuckles and cursing Honda, Lila was able to get a few cloves of garlic planted 🌱

Oof 😬 Well, you an save your knuckles by cutting things off if you need to 🤣

Original suspension parts treated us well in the ol' Odyssey, hopefully we can go another 150k miles before I have to do this again 😅

One of the last reminders of summer still holding on strong 🌱

Enjoying some peaceful easy weather by the mountains & watching the children play

Thank goodness for cell signal, we're camping in the wilderness in the foothills of the Blue Ridge but wouldn't miss Game 7.

8yo got a packet of sunflower seeds in her trick or treat bag, probably the best treat anyone got! 🌱🌻

Who doesn't love a good bunny snuggle? #SmallFarmLife

Gonna be a bit dicey tonight, so we harvested the rest of the basil and a few squashes. Squashes and chilis have tarps and blankets on them, if we can get them through the night we have at least another 2 weeks before they'll be threatened again 🌱🥶

Celebrating our 14th anniversary with kale, peppers, potatoes, and bacon from the backyard. Tuna from the store. We didn't have any almond flour so 13 yo ground almonds for the torta caprese ❤️🍽️🌱🥂

Gotta love a pepper haul in late October 🌱
October 22, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Frost has threatened a couple times but we're still going strong 🌱

We're at our happy place in the woods
October 19, 2025 at 5:54 PM
We got a late start getting our winter squash seeds in the ground but happy we have a long growing season. It hasn't frosted yet and likely won't for another couple of weeks, still plenty of time to get 100lbs or so of squash before then. 🌱

Baby chicks have arrived!

We like to get them in autumn so they're ready to start laying in spring, as well as us being able to sell birds that are close to or already laying when all the local feed stores are selling chicks. #SmallFarmLife

We replaced the drywall 6 years ago and the windows 5 years ago, finally getting around to trimming the windows painting the walls so we can stop sleeping in a construction zone

Although for the past couple of weeks we've been on couches & the rest of our bedroom furniture is in the living room 😅

These dahlias are in the neglected corner of our property but still going strong and attracting pollinators well into October 🌱

Welp she really outdid herself for our 8yo's bday 🍽️🎂

Probably should have gone with a less sweet frosting but oh well, our blood sugar will eventually go back down
