It might not happen. But we should still keep saying, loudly and persistently, that that is what should happen. So much has been normalised, to the point where we stop even thinking about it as wrong. I think we need to re-normalise a belief in law and order.

Surely they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, not just socially shunned? They are criminals, who were (and may still be) involved in the sexual abuse and trafficking of minors. That's not a social faux pas.
