Researcher working on #AutonomousWeapons, #Military #AI, #SpaceConflict, and (the future of) #Warfare. Mainly here as a #NAFO #Fella though.
I live abroad, but if I were still stateside, I would be running for something immediately (and I'll probably run for something where I live now, as soon as I can). And you should too! If you're happy to grumble about problems, you should also be happy trying to fix them!

Super not a fan of Gavin Newsom. Also, super into the trolling! If he will fight, then heck, I'll begrudgingly give him a chance.

If these men assisting the #American #Gestapo are actual #FBI, that makes it even worse. Rather than combatting terrorism, prosecuting pedophiles, or rounding up organized crime, they're assaulting pregnant women so Steven Miller can get his quotas.

In this moment, the most important thing is that we have people who actually give a damn about service working as, you know, public *servants*, and that those individuals are willing to get down in the dirt for a scrap when necessary. Kat seems very much willing to work and to fight. Enough for me!

Because it is classy AF.

The operative word in the first line of the article is "could". #AI #Hype folks use "coulds" and "potentials" because the fact is that, progress aside, they still have not shown a solid, reasonable, profitable, and reliable use case for #LLMs.

If #AI can do all the jobs, why is #Altman still CEO?

As someone with a lot of libertarian sympathies, I totally second this.

We should all have a good healthy dose of libertarian sentiments, but most people who are loud and like to capitalize that leading "L" in libertarian are little more than techno-fascists with some writing skills.

Right now Ukraine is the bulwark and bastion of the liberal democratic world, and if everyone else will wake up to the world war that is ongoing and do their part to kick the bear back to its cave for good, the rest of us will all be better off.

Ukraine's the only country really fighting (so far). And they are fighting Russians, North Koreans, Yemenis, Cubans, Afghans, and so many more. Russia has gathered dozens of countries (and is still getting their asses handed to them). But Russia's also been fighting the rest of us for over 10 years.

One change I would make to your point @jojofromjerz.bsky.social is that WWIII is already ongoing (Russia started it in 2014, if not earlier). The US government is now on the side of the tyrants, but we all need to be clear that this war is on. The liberal democratic world just isn't fighting yet.

💯 People need to remember that the reason the Klan wore hoods was not because hoods were cool or scary. It was because the people behind those hoods were police officers, judges, politicians, pharmacists, plumbers, etc. They wore hoods so you wouldn't know your own neighbor was a domestic terrorist.

I am going to keep saying this: If someone is not in uniform, does not show a badge, and refuses to produce a warrant (or at least some reasonable probable cause), then they cannot "arrest" anyone. They are kidnapping people. And everyday citizens have a right to fight that, with force if necessary.

I think everyone needs to keep one point centered on this topic; Tucker grilled Cruz because Cruz was being super hawkish on Iran. And Iran is Russia's buddy. And Tucker is Russia's buddy.

Cruz couldn't pick out Iran on a map, but Tucker's concern was protecting Russia's allies. Simple as that.

Indeed. I will say though, we are entirely capable of kicking the bear back to its cave and toppling the entrance behind him, without us having to break any rules. And we shouldn't break rules. These states amending their specific arms treaties is not to be equated to a breach of IHL though.
