Someday I'll make it past ante 10.

I run into that with Persona 5 Royal on PS5. "The system is probably counting the time spent with the game running in rest mode. The save file has a much shorter hours count!"

Maybe I was thinking of V being where I first saw it then. I'm sure they kept the feature after introducing it!

I just bounced off the current game and couldn't remember if it was V or VI. 😅

Looking forward to VII, though, so.

One of the things I enjoyed about Civ...IV, I think? It lets you reroll your starting point without having to go through game setup again.

My one Maltese makes me feel that way sometimes.

Feet can be hands if you're adventurous enough.

Why stop there?

But who selects the lower judges? If the people, then what you have are the judges who get elected by playing to people's fears.

If the politicians pick the judges who then select SCOTUS justices, it's still political, just with a layer of deniability.

Petting dogs > anything else tbh

That would explain it. I didn't grab the vanilla DLC.

I'm gonna have to do at least one more vanilla run to clean up the trophies because I missed a mementos request somewhere. 😭

At least Royal's trophy lists (i gotta finish ps4 and then play through ps5) aren't as bad, assuming they share XSX's.

I was wondering if Myriad Truths was in vanilla because I didn't see it at all when I did a NG+ run and finally got around to finishing the compendium with fusions.

I'm not saying it's GOING to happen, but I also don't think the Dodgers will sign one SP and call it good. I'd expect another if they don't get Sasaki, and it wouldn't shock me either way, whether they went for a Fried or a value play like Paxton.

I dunno. I'm not fond of planned DLC that releases shortly after the game, when it feels like it should have been part of the game.

Also not fond of the idea that if a dev wants to expand on their game, they must make a sequel. That's how we wind up with publishers that don't take risks.

When I was younger, I'd check out 20 hardcovers at a time from the library and devour them.

As an adult working six days a week, that's a luxury of days gone by.

What I can do? Listen to audiobooks while I work.

(Also hearing impaired, but not so significantly that I can't enjoy a good audiobook)

That's fair. I do personally prefer 5's story, though I agree with your assessment of the second act.

But I felt like 5's cast was stronger and there were some ++ QoL changes.

And I say that as someone who played through Golden six times in three weeks. >.>

5 (and Royal!) were just that good.
November 21, 2024 at 5:18 AM
Honest question: have you played Persona 5, either vanilla or Royal?

I loved the crap out of Persona 4 Golden, but it has been painful trying to replay that after playing through P5.

You can edit that somewhat. I removed a bunch of those modules. Still too busy, not not as bad as it was when modules first rolled out.
November 21, 2024 at 4:49 AM
Broadly, yes.

But some expansions change a game wholesale. Paradox games are like that, where the game you buy and the one you end up with can be very different experiences.

It shouldn't be common, but I won't say an expansion can't ever be one of the 5 or 6 best experiences of the year.
