But we want to play fun narrative battles that probably aren't balanced by the rules, but also aren't limited to shitty competitive terrain setups or boring tournament-oriented lists with no fluffy choices. No idea when we're going to start, but we'd definitely like more people to join us.

40k canon. Which is often dumb or contradictory or both. So you can have armies trying to do good things or with good characters in a universe that's just totally fucked up. We plan on starting small (kill team or combat patrol sized), building up to bigger games or multiplayer games.

I hated THAC0. It's part of why I didn't play D&D proper until after it died and instead played... other games that were complicated, mostly.

As a GM who is planning to write recaps/blogs about my upcoming 13th Age campaign, I am utterly terrified that you can write 77k words about one session. Either your sessions are *dangerously* long or they are astonishingly eventful or both.
