Absolutely. And we need to unmask the local-community - washing used by big corporations to cover up their polluting practices. Very present across the entire agri-food sector, not just for wine.

Remember that a large proportion of French grape producers ("large" in terms of revenues) are not small communities in beautiful villages but mass producers of industrial alcohol. It serves their shareholders to maintain a false image of winegrower identity.

I am all for helping ailing producers of things that can no longer be produced as easily or for which demand is shrinking, and both spirits and cars are good examples - but why not help them to transition to the production of healthier goods, such as pesticide-free vegetables?

You might have indicated that this book is 30 years old and from a time when the predatory website you are suggesting as a source had hardly begun to destroy any independent bookselling activity.
