The Cranston Inquiry finds Channel deaths could have been prevented. To stop more deaths, we need to cooperate far more closely with Europe, make sure the coastguard has the resources and confidence to do its job, and bring control to our asylum system.

There are no elections in #Woking today. It should have been your opportunity to make your voice heard at the ballot box, but the Conservatives cancelled them and are recklessly rushing ahead with local govt changes which we oppose.

Brits overwhelmingly back a youth mobility scheme, a win-win for the UK and Europe. Yet the Government is sticking its head in the sand, refusing to listen.
Not only would the scheme young people more opportunities, it could also give Britain a much needed economic boost.
