Trying to cope with the intensity of Hong Kong, my new home for almost a month now, I've started recording some (mostly visual) notes from the city. Feel free to check them out on my substack!

I am truly excited to be here, and looking forward to the journey ahead!

My new office might be empty for now, yet outside the window, countless stories are waiting to be captured. Stay tuned!

Empty #Detroit #aag

It might be on the rise, coming back and hip again, but Detroit still feels so eerily empty

First walk in Brasilia, the presumably car oriented city. Loads of walkable spaces, plenty of contradictions. Timeless design.

Meeting friends and colleagues today at a conference concluding our www.carinpt.eu project. Lots of interesting reflections on #public #transport and #mobilities.

And it's held in the very building in which I work at #VUB/#ULB #USquare in #Brussels — it's so cool to cycle (≠ fly) to a conference!

The paper is the first one in a series from our fieldwork in 2022-2024. Other texts will explore questions at the intersection of mobility, material scarcity, labour and governance in Santiago. Stay tuned!

It has been a pleasure to co-write this piece, and to illustrate it with some of my photographs.

#Waiting for transport and travelling around Santiago is a daily strain in terms of time, money and physical effort.

This affects the mobility patterns, social roles and livelihoods of women.
