A senile delinquent.Tech,outdoor stuff,history,art,nature,bicycling,science and ALE.Yes a dull middle aged man.
A grim dark December day. But feeling a little giddy. Theakstons Old Perculier in a wooden cask is settling in the cellar of my local. At 5.6% I really should get the shopping done before I partake. #realale #craftbeer #brewing #beer

Memories of watching bread rise by the Cannon Gas Miser. My Mam wasn’t troubled by the strike. Just baked her own. Nothing has ever tasted better jam butties on still warm bread.

Me and the dog enjoying a post hike warm up in the boozer. And myself topping up on carbs. 🎶🎶🎵I am a wage slave on Monday. But I am a free man on Sunday. #hiking #beer #dogs

I recall some social media, tabloid nonsense about this phenomenon a few years ago. My last few rambles have been on moorland around 900m. This jelly like substance has popped up here and there. A water sodden dead puff ball appears to be the most plausible . #fungi #mushrooms #hiking #nature

The blessing and the financial curse of your local boozer being a micro brewery. Irwell Works Brewery. Unicorn Milk Stout left to finish in a oak Rum barrel. #craftbeer #brewing #realale

Pendle Hill (so good they named it thrice)?”Pen”from the Britonic for hill. “dle” from the old English hyll, meaning, well hill. And of course modern English “hill”. #hiking #Lancashire #Nature #history #language #fungi

I have a similar though less preserved grave 10minutes from my home. The small circular stones are still present. And one larger flat slab lies next to it.The mound itself is no longer present. It was investigated in 60,s revealing cremation remains and grave goods. And an urn.

When on a walk or a bike ride. Sometimes the path is chosen for you. Reclaimed flags crossing a Pennine peat bog. A ribbon unfurled across otherwise sub aquatic environment .😁 #nature #hikeing #cycling #mtb #landscape

Top Mill(built 1870)Shuttleworth Lancashire. One hundred and odd years ago. Machines hammered out fabrics and broke human bodies. The site was an abandoned Clough for decades. During the pandemic the locals reclaimed the narrow valley as a community park. #nature #hiking #photography

Far too hot for hiking for my delicate Northern European constitution. The E-bike is out. A point on the moors where the boundaries of four towns meet.
Marked with a boundary stone. Rawtenstall,Bacup,Ramsbottom and Whitworth meet on Hailstorm ridge.l
