Trumpian? Have you seen your leader's latest social media posts? Populist & as grubby as Farage. How did the Greens allow it...?

This is the sort of thing Reform would post. Disappointing.

My 'working class' experience evidently very different to yours.

It was nothing to do with limited horizons for me & my siblings whose working class parents wanted the best. It was not having the opportunity for grammar school (no 11 plus & no one to push), going to a sink school. It was not having anyone in the family to mentor. It was not having books at home.

😄 Mark my brother built these big balsa wood planes with little motors & flew them on the moors. I had all the soldiers!

I totally get this 😄. Did you have the airfix soldiers, ships & planes back in the day too....?

You sound to have been very fortunate.

You're working class & had the opportunity to go to grammar school? 😆 What was it/who was it that faciliated your passage to grammar school? 🤔 Read Transclasses by Jaquet. It's very interesting on social mobility

How does the government square this with lack of support for languages education in schools & universities? The university sector is in crisis generally but languages, since the 1920s the core of Arts education, are literally disappearing. Ask the question?

Far more interesting is an independent school culture where bands (or rather, clubs) of racist teens would form & roam around abusing their fellows. Where does that culture come from? Where does it go?

It was like nothing we'd seen before. Looking back, it was a very young woman centre stage, (no band), dancing sensually & theatrically (no disco), singing about desire in a high, high woman's pitch ('shrill' 'hysterical'). She owned that space. What a role model Kate was.

I saw her first TOTP performance of Wuthering Heights & that must've been in 1978. It was absolutely mesmerising. No one knew quite what to do. 😆

I've just never understood prestige weddings - & then going back to the room in parent's house/rundown rental accommodation. Madness.

Jack Frost ferns on the windows. Victorian schools. Rats. Portakabin classrooms. Watching the dot disappear on the telly. Dad filling rust on cars. Broken down telly. Eiderdown. Broken down car. Malt extract. Buttercup Syrup. Bruce Forsyth

it's not his teen behaviour that matters, it's now. Isn't there anything 21st century?
