Like, I associate it with the CD culture that used to be bigger that encompasses kinda Beaumont Society stuff and older trans support groups that might be run by people in that culture and the sleazier club side with chasers and fetish stuff around.

That's fair. I guess through a combination of when and where I came out (a while ago in a shitty backwards small town) I've had more to do directly with that stuff so kinda feel like they're my people even if I don't like many of them too much if that makes sense.

There are older women I know who only had those spaces for the longest time and there are still, far fewer but still some, younger women who need them to be safe. Like, don't get me wrong, CD clubs and chaser clubs fucking suck and I avoid them but we can't just disavow them.

I mean, have you been to a support group full of late transitioning HBSers? Internalised transmisogyny is the biggest game in town for whatever flavour of trans femininity you end up with. It is very recent, like last 15 years or so, that trans women without contact with CD scenes exist at all.

I think it's very recent that there are trans femme people around who *don't* consider CD and sissy communities part of our world. Like, I didn't come out that long ago, but chaser clubs and CDs were definitely part of the trans community I entered into.
