That said, Tesla's meme stock status bolsters your argument.

I wonder about Elon's actual public appeal. Yes, there are legitimate weirdos who are all in (many of them in the media for what it's worth) but he also owns a platform overrun by bots and doesn't seem like the kind of person above renting out a datacenter to pump out posts.

They suck so much! The print quality is the absolute worst, they fall apart and if it's something in the public domain it'll have AI art on the cover.

She's like every history professor you've ever had that starts a lecture on the war of 1812 that veers sharply into a 40 minute discussion of Garfield's presidency and then ends up talking about Spanish piracy during the Exploration age. I love her.

It's funny because some electric cars do that already. The e-Golf was capped at 85. As a boring driver it never caused me any issues. Enthusiasts still will break the limiter over their knees, but those kind of nerds are few and far between.

Upping the speed limiter
New to the family, very excited to be here :) Will be posting more soon. I bought a 2019 e-Golf about a month ago and realized that the speed limiter is at 85 mph not 93 mph like the European version...

Carl from Internet of Bugs did a video on this (he actually uploaded a version that ONLY covered the SciShow video, but expanded to other YouTubers so people wouldn't think it was a problem unique to them:

Cory Doctorow talks about how tech companies want to create "reverse centaurs" where the robot does the thinking while the meat sack does the work part. Most people want the opposite, that's why these ads are so weirdly jarring, they're for investors, not people.

I agree with your point, but I do want to mention that companies keep throwing up these dogshit AI ads because they end up in people's feeds. Coke and McD's KNOW people hate it, they're not dumb, but I haven't seen a McDonald's ad in about a decade and I saw this one because it's in my feed.

And to be clear, "AI" in the original sense, not just the generative AI sense. Pytorch, Tensorflow, etc. are still really reliant on CUDA.

CNN needs to do Lizza next.

It started as an affectation ("Billionaires, they're just like us!") and now I feel like it's just that they're high as fuck and don't give a shit. I don't know what Dealbook puts in the water, but they always seem at their worst at this particular venue.

I did Arch. The wiki isn't all it's cracked up to be, next time I'll just do Ubuntu server version and call it a day.
