Ariel what services does the Somerset Community health centre provide to the people living with addictions? There appears to be two gathering points one around the health centre and the other around Hazelwood. I would like a full picture of what is causing/helping the problem.

Not sure how I feel
about this. On my street there is an entrepreneurial Indigenous woman who picks up the bottles. She told me she is being competed against with someone in a truck. Would be nice if they could pick an area that doesn’t compete with the homeless. Kind of defeats the point.

Would the ring road replace the 417 like the way the ring road around Washington DC works or is it just another road. If the former I fully support as highways through cities are horrible. If just another road then I agree pull it out.

Giant Tiger in Hintonburg has renovated and is selling groceries. It’s really good.

I will take of social (for now) and email to request you or a staff member to meet me there to explain how it is closed. I use it every day. Have a great weekend.

No barriers no signs no paint. How is this closed?
July 12, 2025 at 1:18 AM
This is what it looks like from a cars perspective. Many bikers go down the wrong way and cars just see as driveway until too late. Someone is going to get hurt and this time it won’t be the car’s fault. Tell staff to paint it or close it. This is would be non performative vision zero.

What’s your definition of not open. No barriers no closed signs and everyone using it!
July 12, 2025 at 1:11 AM
Bike lanes along Scott @Pinhey are still unpainted. I emailed you months ago and you said they are closed. Now open. Really dangerous especially at night as just a long asphalt driveway as far as a car is concerned. Has happened to be as a cyclist and driver. Maybe start vision zero in your ward.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. Certainly not a great situation for these folk trying to get their life back on track.

It looks the case with OW also apparently can apply within 10 days of release. I would double check sources.

Ariel, double check on the OHIP.I did a quick search and prisoners keep their OHIP while in prison and just need to establish Ontario residency when released. The waiting period for residency was waived a few years back. Anyway suggest a double check.

Yeah. Public transit should be free. No question.
May 23, 2025 at 10:11 PM
I don’t really understand your post. Parking is free if you don’t charge for it. Also still free on most side streets where most of the cars will go.

I like this and I love how you listened and allowed your view to shift a bit. That’s rare in politics today. Everyone is so locked-in. Well done and get some well-deserved rest this weekend.

It’s in Jeff’s ward but my fave is Shawarma Al Mouna on Wellington with a special treat of a lentil soup sample which hits the spot on a cold day.
