“Amselfelder” is a popular wine brand from Kosovo. The brand was developed in the 1960s and owned by Racke, a large German wine distributor, before being sold in 2008 . Originally a sweet red blend of Gamay-Cab Sauv-Pinot Noir-Vranac- Prokupac; best-selling wine in W Germany in the 1960s & 1970s.

Interesting development in Croatia’s wine exports over the past 30 years: While volume has declined, the average price has surged from €1.24 in 1995 to €6.17 in 2024.

With 17.8%, Chardonnay is a distant #1, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (15.4%), French Colombard (9%), Pinot Noir (7.4%), and Zinfandel (6.8%).

Most of the 20th century, Algeria was the world's largest wine exporter. Most Algerian wine was shipped to Sète (formerly "Cette"), the main wine port in Languedoc. Here an old postcard from 1921.

Algeria was the world’s largest wine-exporting country for most of the 20th century, and almost all of its wine was red. Carignan, Alicante Bouschet, and Cinsaut were the most common grape varieties.

California accounts for 78.5% of U.S. wine production, followed by New York (4.2%), Washington (4.0%), and Oregon (2.8%). Behind that are many surprises (e.g., Kentucky #5, New Jersey #8).

Alsatian Riesling and Sylvaner Bulk Wine Prices in France, 1998–2024.
Both series have trended upward. However, Riesling shows both a higher overall price level and a steeper upward slope than Sylvaner.
