A hungry sound came across the breeze
So I gave the walls a talking
That makes sense... human nature I guess.

Yeah, I mean it’s complicated… I just don’t think you can totally discount it. Secularism is much less of a given in that part of the world.

Eh, kinda seems like a western take.

If it were just about land, they probably would’ve settled the conflict by now.

This is old time religion for West Bank settlers and Hamas.

Temple Mount / Al-Aqsa Mosque being the locus for so much of the violence.

The ignorance is insane… many don’t even realize Mizrahi or Sephardic Jews exist.

Sad but true… ironic considering they claim to be against genocide.

Seems like Zionism already happened with the creation of the state, so what most reasonable lefties are arguing against (settlements in WB, human rights abuses) would be more accurately described as Kahanism.

Yeah half the time he just repeats conventional wisdom… but in a way that’s designed to get under people’s skin (bad timing or just overly smug.)

I know two! Although they both regret it now. A lot of people’s politics got scrambled during the pandemic (left to right, liberal to communist, normie to conspiracy nut, etc.)

My 78 year old mom goes to all their protests... but I don't think she even knows what AIPAC or 50501 are, TBH.

Yeah, laundry was probably the worst part about it for me.

We had 2 washers/dryers for an 8 unit building, and they'd break down all the time... or other tenants would just leave their wet clothes for hours.

I'd end up at a (somewhat sketchy) laundromat once or twice a month. Don't miss that!

It’s not so bad if you live in a walkable neighborhood w/the basic amenities (store, park, etc.)

Would probably be a better pod though

Was briefly a thing in my little punk rock circle just after high school… that and we all gave each other germs burns.

Those all sound like reasonable concerns that should be ironed out. And I get the apprehension with McCourt (or any billionaire really.)

I guess selfishly, I just think it’d be cool to ride it w/my kid to games. We’re coming from SGV and it’d give me a reason to wanna take transit vs. just driving.
November 16, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Mind if I ask why?

Seems like it would be useful for getting to games without a car, the views up there would be insane, it’s privately funded, and might bring infill development to the parking crater surrounding the stadium (jobs, housing, etc.)

She seems like the best of the bunch, from what I’ve heard.

But still has taken some odd positions (if memory serves, she opposes the Dodger gondolas, opposed cracking down on catalytic converter theft, opposed banning homeless encampments in front of schools and daycares.)

The “duopoly” is just a luxury belief for the privileged.

She was involved in a courtroom kidnapping plot that ended in a shootout w/four dead.

She bought the guns used at the scene, but was acquitted on all charges.

Unfortunately the DSA types in LA are mostly left NIMBY’s so I wouldn’t count in that solving the problem.
