I used Nakd bars for a marathon but just a small bite here and there. Its difficult to chew running, but I don't get on with gels. Strategic sports drink perhaps?

I'm not convinced you need to worry about fuelling for a half. Your body will be fine for two hours assuming you ate breakfast etc. Maybe a handful of jelly babies for emergency.
