Beginner watercolor artist, and overachieving generalist in life. LGBTQIA+ ally. Metoo survivor. Shocked to suddenly be the village elder.
I made friends with this little one today. Largest jumping spider variety in North America. I named her Phil-leap-e

Good morning. Mama and baby came to look in the living room windows at us. It was Gracie's first time seeing deer. Waiting for MRI results today. I'll take a large coffee please, because the drugs are making me really sleepy. Have a great day!

Alfred is the Black and Tan, 9 years old. Gracie is the little red, 1 year old.

Feeling sad. Hubby left for Hawaii and I'm staying home because a sciatica attack at 40K feet over the Pacific, would result in me getting pushed out the door due to the screaming. Extra coffee for the pity party of one, please. At least I have these two to keep me company!

The country is a dumpster fire, but my sweet Princess Gracie turns one today!

I'm going to be traveling soon, and I like to make little gifts for the flight crews when I fly. I found clear luggage tags that I could fill with small watercolor paintings. The owner can write their identifying information on the back. I have a lot of kitties to paint!

I started my own doodle book and filled it over the weekend. I grabbed all of my old Zentangle stuff and converted it all to WC. I can use it for inspiration whenever I don't know what to paint.

Good morning, Susan. 🌞It's overcast here in the TC, but I'm happy you have sunshine! Here is a picture of a bloom from a double hibiscus that was given to my grandmother around 1925-1930 as a "suitor" gift. It never fails to wow me! Sure, I'll take a cup with cream please. Have a great day!

Discovered Daniel Smith watercolor ground, that allows me to paint on just about any surface. More in alt text. Please ignore the sound of my dehumidifier humming in the background.

Good morning! Bright sunshine and shaping up to be a beautiful day. My flower gardens have sure liked the rain, even if they're a bit ragged. I'll take a cup with cream, please. Hope you have a fantastic day!

California is going full steam ahead on redistricting (gerrymandering) in favor of democrats to counteract anything that Texas does. ALL democratic states should follow suit and fight fire with fire.

Finished my latest Stone Guardian. Do you think it's good enough to be donated to a Hawaiian art gallery, where the sale would benefit children's art education? Major imposter's syndrome going on here!

I'm a watercolor painter. My second hobby is collecting and curating watercolor sets. My THIRD hobby is bookbinding. Now combined in the most boring book ever.

Good morning! Sipping my coffee on this cool, smoky day, while nerding out on Daniel Smith color charts. I bought a complete 266 color dot card set, cut apart each dot, and pasted it into the book I handmade. I'm gradually swatching out all of the colors. I'm learning so much about pigments!

Good morning, Susan. Heat advisory continues today. The garden loves the weather. Hope you have a great day!

I seem to be in my Stone Creature phase. I can't stop painting them.

Good morning, Susan. It's overcast here in the TC today. I'm fighting hard against depression, by keeping busy and doing things that need doing. I'm gobsmacked by the response I got on a collab between my sister and my art in a post from yesterday. Gracie is in the magic sweater this morning.

I've been exploring some of my late sister's sketch books and using them for inspiration. I lost her almost 4 weeks ago. I'm using art to work through grief.

Good morning, Susan. I spent the past couple days refurbishing my mother's table that I inherited from my sister. Lots of elbow grease was required, but I think it turned out really nice. I'll enjoy a well-earned cup of #BlueBrew this morning, while I try not to doom-scroll.

#Narrow lines in this tangle-like watercolor. Is it a quilt? Is it needlepoint? Is it stained glass?

Is it an expression of needing some control in a world that is out of control? 😆

Not my usual style, but it occupied my monkey brain for several hours.

My sister had emergency surgery yesterday, so I'm down visiting her. I have to see if I can wrangle the Hospice team today and get a plan of action in place. The hotel bills are stacking up, and I'm really quite a mess. But I have Princess Gracie with me, so that helps.
