These sorts of wacky oil wars tend to result in ~50 year contracts. These mooks want the US to be bogged down with major ties to oil companies past the year 2075 when everybody else will have moved on and oil will no longer be a major energy resource in the developed world.

"We are here to fight for fairness and to fight against the weird genital obsessed fascists who are trying to dehumanize some of your neighbors, because the government shouldn't be sending judgy strangers to forcibly fiddle around in people's underwear" seems like about the easiest thing to win on.

The more Nvidia does damage control lately, the more I hear Nvidia going "WE REALLY NEED TO BE OUT HERE DOING LOTS OF DAMAGE CONTROL BECAUSE THESE THINGS ARE NOT GOING AWAY ON THEIR OWN."

I'm not sure it's having exactly the effect that they intend.

Especially coming from one of the richest and most powerful people on the planet.

TV roasts are funny because they are punching up. It's not the same using state of the art AI punching down to be maximally mean to a person you don't know. That's a sociopath's idea of funny, he finds mean funny.

Obviously, the doctor did nothing wrong. That's just the vaporous ailment of your lady hysteria talking.

Wait -- I should clarify that I am being satirical. Modern entirely-sincere podcast-bro's can be almost indistinguishable from an exaggerated parody of 1800's quacks.

... And that's just the ones that didn't bother using a VPN to pretend to be in the US, like lots of bot accounts likely do.

Career politicians are generally very unused to talking like that. I can imagine it's against her instincts at this point in her career. But frankly it's good to see people in power flexing their rhetorical muscles. A lot of powerful people have been stuck uselessly in "when they go low, we go hi."

I was really surprised and disappointed to hear AI "voice cloning" as a voice on the podcast. Somebody could have just read that text.

For a podcast about how human beings communicate, it seems quite inappropriate. Perhaps I'll just have Alexa listen to the next ep and cut humans out entirely.

She didn't understand what a problem it was until she got out of court. Her phone was probably blowing up while she was in court.

I once had a vaguely similar pitch for an alternate timeline. Divergence is that the Enterprise doesn't get Q'd back at the end of Q Who.

The Maquis are the ones who are volunteers in mine, trying to establish a hivemind freestate in the borderlands after they send a distress call to the Borg.

Set after First Contact, just a political drama on Earth about post-WWIII unification and rebuilding, no starships, quite a bit of concern that the Vulcans just invaded and are controlling our society and debates about whether or not that's good.

Or raw footage of Academy Romulan history lectures.

Many of them know. With things like the ABC "settlement," you have to understand that they weren't just stupid. They were looking for a convenient way to pay a bribe that would pass legal. They wanted to give him millions of dollars. It wasn't an accident, whatever they say on a 2029 book tour.

Every company thinks I really want a shit ton of notifications about their product. I would like to notify them of the contrary.

They can say they shipped and got downloads.

The fewer people can use it initially, the bigger the % growth numbers on engagement they can brag about in the next promotion cycle. Having it work just makes next year harder. Shipping working code from the start is sucker promotion engineering.

If it makes you feel any better it's possible for the specific local YouTube server you are connected to to be the only one with a problem. So you can potentially spend all day chasing down a problem that only you can see.
