Island Energy has released a statement that evacuations are a precaution while engineers undertake testing and repairs.

They state: "Our engineers are currently on-site and working to locate and repair the gas escape."

This, however, was rejected by 27 votes to 19 with no abstentions.

It was voted through by 32 votes to 14 with no abstentions.
