Patiently waiting for the squirrel to climb back down the tree to be eaten or at least chased!

There are rumours the Government wants to curb trial by jury - an appalling way to try to fix the broken justice system they inherited from the Tories.

I've challenged Ministers to improve our prison system and pressed for urgent action to protect public safety and prison staff.

I've got a busy week ahead - watching to see what the Budget means for #Woking, visiting 4 schools as part of #ParliamentWeek, as well as speaking in parliamentary debates on safe and legal routes for refugees, taxes on glass bottles and protecting children from domestic abuse.

I’ve visited Cellar Magnifique in #Woking as part of the @libdems.org.uk’ campaign for an emergency 5% VAT cut for pubs, restaurants and other hospitality and entertainment businesses in this week’s Budget.
November 24, 2025 at 1:20 PM
I sat on the Bill Committee for the Border Bill. I spent hours proposing amendments that would've saved taxpayers money and created safer routes for refugees - all ignored. Even Labour knows this Bill isn’t good enough, as the Home Secretary’s new measures show.

The prohibitive cost of transitioning to renewable energy is stopping people from installing it in their homes. I raised a #Woking resident's case in Parliament this week - and asked what the Government is doing to bring these costs down.

Improving the lives of Woking constituency residents was why I stood for Parliament - so I’m delighted to receive such positive feedback in the latest MyKnaphill magazine!

If anyone has any issues, please don't hesitate to get in touch [email protected].

Following the publication of the report into Sara Sharif’s murder, I’ve done more interviews than I could imagine - calling for recommendations to be urgently implemented, #Surrey County Council’s Children’s Services to be put into special measures and those responsible to come before MPs.
November 14, 2025 at 2:43 PM
Please read my statement on the outcome of the Child Safeguarding Practice Review into the appalling murder of Sara Sharif. No child should ever have to die like this.

I was delighted to meet with representatives from @camraofficial.bsky.social to talk about what pubgoers and beer drinkers want ahead of the Budget and discuss the challenges the trade is facing, including business rates, VAT, Employer National Insurance contributions and beer taxes.
November 10, 2025 at 8:01 PM
I’ve placed crosses on behalf of #Woking at Parliament’s Garden of Remembrance to place a tribute to those who have been lost in the service of our country.
November 8, 2025 at 9:40 AM
Great to help open #Woking’s annual business event, Woking Means Business, this morning. Pleased to support our amazing local businesses including Porky Whites - it’s great to see so many businesses positive about the future.

Whilst I'm relieved that #Woking resident William Smith has handed himself in following his mistaken release, it is ludicrous that the prison system is relying on convicted criminals doing the right thing to ensure that they serve the full extent of their sentences.
November 6, 2025 at 4:00 PM
After an appalling series of failures, including a prisoner from #Woking wrongly being released, I’ve done the media round this evening saying Ministers must face MPs and be held to account for this prison gates fiasco. Recess must be cancelled! 😡
November 5, 2025 at 7:07 PM
As the Member of Parliament for #Woking, I’m aware that a prisoner was wrongly released from Wandsworth Prison yesterday, and also that this person is a Woking resident and his offences were predominantly within Woking.
November 5, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Pleased to open the #Surrey Development Forum Conference in #Woking this morning - it’s vital everyone, whether that be councils, developers, housing associations or residents, work together to solve the housing crisis.
November 5, 2025 at 10:52 AM
Delighted to see the UEFA European Women's Championship Trophy at Parliament to celebrate the @englandfootball.bsky.social’s victory! The #Lionesses back-to-back victories has inspired a generation of women and girls - we now need more investment in women’s sport to keep up.

Very proud to have joined colleagues this week to mark the 75th anniversary of the rebuilding of the House of Commons Chamber after the Second World War.

Toffee and I had a lots of fun judging this year’s Christmas card competition! A huge thank you to all the talented primary school pupils from across #Woking constituency who took part - your entries were fantastic and made choosing a winner very tough!

People are rightly angry about the state of the asylum system in the UK and I was pleased to have my first speech as the new @libdems.org.uk Spokesperson for Immigration and Asylum covered on BBC Radio 4. Listen here 👇

As #Woking’s MP, I just voted to stop Nigel Farage’s plan to undermine our human rights. Thankfully, the @libdems.org.uk and other MPs voted down a coalition of Tories, Reform and others who wanted to withdraw us from the European Convention on Human Rights.

Even though #Woking is just 16 miles from Heathrow Airport, we have no rail link to our country's busiest airport. I've called on the Transport Secretary to deliver new railway connections to Heathrow, if the airport expands.
October 26, 2025 at 6:36 PM
With rumours circulating that local elections in #Surrey and across the country might be delayed for a further year, I asked Kier Starmer at #PMQs this week for a cast-iron guarantee that voters in #Woking will not be denied their democrat right for a second year in a row.
October 25, 2025 at 7:40 AM
I’ve had such a busy week - speaking on immigration, asking a #PMQ and pushing for a #Heathrow to #Woking train line. Whereas, my dog Toffee has been having the time of his life hanging out with his mates at dog day care!
