May be recency bias, but it’s been a while since I was as delighted with the end of a film as when I saw a certain final scene involving Buddy Guy hanging out at his blues club

And I love Antonioni and virtually everything he committed to film - but man is that one ever a nadir. A nadir of a nadir even
(also, Pink Floyd’s “Careful With That Axe…” is the only decent piece of music in it - a film about the youth counterculture that doesn’t even have good jams)

What works best for me is remembering the ‘87 collapse - a heartbreaking slow-rolling car crash that was finally overcome with ‘92/‘93. Nothing hurts worse than ‘87, and those too young to remember are lucky. Just focus on the hurt from a previous time and the pain from this one will fade a bit!

As a Jays fan, it’s honestly kind of comforting seeing another team blow it spectacularly. Doesn’t matter the sport or time of season, it takes the edge off. God bless you Cincy
