also many are still convinced of a sentient intelligence, people conflate massive amounts of knowledge, with intelligence dressed up as a smoke and mirrors linguistics engine.

the pool of future training data is already becoming polluted with these 'hallucinations' it'll soon get reinforced as primary sources. , within a few years it'll be impossible to tell what's accurate and what is LLM BS.

Any interest in an original Philips SL Prismatic early CFL lamp? similar to right hand one in photo (quicker to google an image than walking to cupboard)

we have a tree in our garden that gets decimated every year by caterpillars. Caterpillars/butterfly are by far our most successful crop!! we love looking for the larvae and waiting for them to all hatch.

most people seem to conflate intelligence with knowledge.
None of the current round of text prediction engines are remotely close to AGI, they are have lots of knowledge and are very good at putting words in a mostly meaningful order.

it's interesting, I've worked in tech companies offering products to similar industries.
On the solution side so much effort was put in supporting random old HW on new OS.
On the client side they would request SW and spend months and $ configuring it to work click for click like the old system.

I have mixed feelings on it.
Ignoring my feelings on Trumpet and Melon
Feels too coincidental to be anything but a setup to make a statement against them & was put out too easily to be anything with the batteries.
on other hand, If it is real incident dont trust either of them not covering it up
