I’m not commenting on whether restricting jury trials is right or wrong. But if it’s going to be done, it would be bizarre/pointless leaving it open to appeals without some reasonable justification. (And it won’t be the police determining guilt - that’s not how trials work)

Is that just aligning the process with what happens with a jury decision?
