Luckily their senior school is next to the primary, so we’ve already got the route down. The problem is that even the “safest” route is still risky. (Away from the man road, the side-streets are constricted with parked cars on both sides but used as a rat-run).
We’ll figure something out.

My kids will soon transition to secondary school. We currently ride together to school with me on the road and them on the pavement.
They’re getting too big for that, but the frequency of close-passes and near-misses means I wouldn’t be comfortable letting them ride alone.

Oh like something that could also be used as a scraper or small sickle? That makes a lot of sense. (I'm absolutely no expert; just speculating based on analogous tools we still use today)

Aargh I’ve died 36 times. And I made friends with a horse then died then strangled my horse friend and I need to die in one more spectacular way but I’ve forgotten where I haven’t been.
