"Given enough time, hydrogen begins to ask itself what it is, and how it got here"
Here is last night's Eagle nebula shot. Presented preliminarily in anticipation of adding a few more hours of integrated time. Also a test of Bsky's higher res images.

I will tag it to the feeds when I have more data.

Here the finer structure of the nebula is apparent.

NGC 2664, the Christmas Tree Cluster and the Cone Nebula in Narrowband RGB.
The spring* constellation of Monoceros contains this interesting cluster and its associated nebulae. The Cone Nebula, upper left, is a "star-forming pillar of gas and dust."

The photos are not "doctored," in a deceptive way, as you seem to imply, but they are taken using an "RGB" filter to combat light pollution. It limits the wavelengths observed to a few useful ones. I then adjust the images to increase the observability of the deep space objects.

Also known as NGC 2237, it is 5200 Light years distant, and 65 light years across. The nebula, which is presented by Mocking Moon Observatory here today, is infested with newborn stars:

Here's the #Horsehead nebula from the 7th, using my Antlia Triband Ultra II.
I will soon capture broadband lights to mix in and, I hope, bring the blue and yellow wavelengths out.

A vastly expansive shell of gas surrounds the multiple star system HD 206267 in the constellation Cepheus. Clumps of gas and "dust" struggle against the raging stellar winds.
