Just learning stuff - don't know where I'm heading
Haha! An age remark if ever there was one

I am getting old-

My first thought was how much would it cost to heat all that empty space

My second thought. Ugh, you'd have to pay ppl to help you look after it, and that would be horrid

I'll have the pool room.

The rest of the building is haunted by the most tedious corporate away-day

And, imagine being the poor sod sent out to put lines on the lawn...

'Keep going'

'No, further'

'Further'

Have already had to replace an egg I bought early for the kids

And will do it again

And possibly again, again

And when it dries, dust.

Gritty, brown dust brought in as mud by the dogs and kids

In the carpets, on the blinds 🥺

It would be nice to be led by people who were collegiate and country-focussed rather than nakedly combative and blind to all but Westminster

From Yougov just now (not the final result)

I wonder how many respondents read LOTF and how many also read the counter [non-fiction] piece in the Guardian?

My octogenarian mum needed clothes for a thing.

Me: how'd you get on?

Mum [tbh, wailing a bit]: I got out of the carpark, and there was the bookshop, and then it was time to go home

Rinse and repeat

I have suggested shopping then books. Bc, obvs, books is collecting or browsing, not shopping

When, actually, they're collaborative, creative, and supportive ❤️

I heard this on a podcast recently. Can't remember which.

A comment was made that when LOTF is taught at school, it should be countered with this true story.

ABSOLUTELY THIS. I can't bear that teenage boys are being told they're barbaric through a work of fiction, and it's just a 🤷‍♀️

It's the calculation that I can't fathom

"How much sex-offending can we acknowledge before it seems a bit icky"

None, it turns out

What I find most disturbing is that any level of abuse by people in these power circles is known about and tolerated.

And Starmer ran on a morality ticket. Shame

Why is that normal anywhere?
