So many gacha games market characters as a literal prize to be won and the direct correlation that turn of phrase shares to concepts like trophy wives and other misogynistic and dehumanizing practices towards both women AND men, and how pursuing a partner is treated in general is not lost on me
Yknow I truly do not like how hoyoverse and a lot of gacha games have affected character design, and it's not my usual "I hate anime" bullshit.
I just think that the design tropes in media like those are overcomplicated, unhelpful in communicating characters, and are misogynistic, especially hoyo
