Many Americans, who like to walk around with large guns, have spent countless decades posturing about standing up to tyranny. Yet when it comes, they’re actually the agents terrorizing neighborhoods. While the courageous ones are scared regular people who are finding power through each other.

A previously unheard 'Sextant' tour FM broadcast has emerged. It’s well worth your time. This group is especially good when they stretch way way way out. And they certainly do that here...

I heard this guy for the first time earlier today on the radio and need to dig deeper.

My take on the Jan 23 action in Minneapolis is that I don’t really care whether it’s a “true” general strike (we could argue about that all day).

What DOES matter is that it’s a bold and necessary escalation, and local labor leaders are publicly encouraging workers to join in anti-ICE resistance

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

My all time favorite property of matter and cool science fact.
YouTuber Cody don Reeder produced this demonstration of a 50 kg (110 lb) anvil floating in liquid mercury, demonstrating that relative density, not weight, determines if something floats.

But let's talk about the one PARADOXICAL SOLID that makes life on Earth possible.

Revolutionary optimism is the disciplined confidence that because trans lives are forced to invent ways of surviving capitalism, we also possess the skills needed to abolish it.

Despair only serves existing power structures.

Because Monday is garbage day at our house, every year I am struck with the irony that Waste Management workers don’t get a holiday on MLK day.

i think this MLK day the thing to focus on is the strategic focus and tactical brilliance of the civil rights movement and the way it was laser focused on a set of achievable goals

When I tell you that the people who are organizing political opposition against the left wing of council are the worst people in the city, here's some evidence!

And now there's a blueprint of how they are all connected from a guy boomer texting his whole entire conspiracy & network in full view. 🤯
The Mercury has obtained a series of images of group messages that show racist, sexist, and homophobic tropes used by a local developer and other local conservative political activists during a council president election. Readers may find this content offensive.

My deadhead friends generally considered him cheesy, but Bobby was my favorite at the handful of shows I caught. Especially the last time at Shoreline, when he was dancing in and out of the mic and making his voice evaporate into the sunset.
