It is a profound honor to welcome Dr. Dom Flemons back to the White Water for a special night of song on Saturday, February 21st 💥 It is always inspiring and a lot of fun to have this brilliant man grace our stage. Limited tickets for this fully-seated show are available @ www.whitewatertavern.com Dr. Dom Flemons “The American Songster" received an Honorary Doctorate from Northern Arizona University and he's a GRAMMY Award Winner with four GRAMMY nominations, Two-Time EMMY Nominee, International Acoustic Music Award Grand Prize Winner, and was a United States Artists Fellow. He is a musician based in the Chicago area and he is famously known as "The American Songster®" since his repertoire covers over one hundred years of American roots music; including country, folk, bluegrass, Americana, and the blues. Flemons is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music scholar, historian, actor, narrator, host, slam poet, record collector, podcaster, and the creator, host, and producer of the American Songster Radio Show on WSM in Nashville, TN. He is considered an expert player on the banjo, guitar, harmonica, jug, percussion, quills, fife and rhythm bones. The mighty S.G. Goodman returns to the White Water on Thursday, May 21st for what guarantees to be a very special night of music. Advance tickets are available now at www.whitewatertavern.com and are sure to sell out. S.G. Goodman returns from the Western Kentucky bottomland with her latest full-length album, Planting by the Signs, Available June 20, 2025 on her very own Slough Water Records via Thirty Tigers. Composed of songs inspired by love, loss, reconciliation, and the aforementioned ancient practice. Eleven tracks highlighted by the critically-acclaimed and award-winning artist’s singular voice and her penchant for juxtaposing vulnerable folk music with punchy rock ‘n roll, replete with chiming guitars, ethereal atmospherics, and her DIY ethos. Goodman provides a timely reminder that the only way forward is together, and that we must always take into account humanity’s dependence on and responsibility to the natural world. We are psyched to host the long-awaited record release show for our dear friend SPERO aka PAPERWRK this Thursday night along with special guests TREVOR BATES & THEE NEW A.D. 💥Music kicks off at 8pm sharp and advance tickets (generously in benefit of Trust Tree organization) are available for $10 bucks @ www.whitewatertavern.com Paperwrk is the brainchild of composer/producer Correne Spero with more than a little help from her friends. Recorded from approximately 2009-2015 between Little Rock and Spero’s Queens, NY bedroom, the Paperwrk sessions began as Spero was winding down a decade of frenetic activity with NYC-based band Northern State. After meeting up with Little Rock’s American Princes on the road, Spero was persuaded to visit Arkansas and record some solo songs with the Princes’ support. Spero is a longtime member of all-girl bands Northern State (NYC), Lucky Bitch (NYC), and DOT (Little Rock) and founder of the nonprofit Trust Tree, providing songwriting programs to girls and gender expansive youth in Central Arkansas. Thee New A.D. are not your grandfathers alt-rock. Coming together in late 2019,Thee New A.D. feature the songs of Daniel Craig (Ezra Lbs, Twelve Tone Elevator) and Nathan Houser (Casual Pleasures, Ezra Lbs, Squozen) with Daniel Olah (Funkanites, Peach Blush, Ezra Lbs) on drums and Tate Mcswain (Black Horse, The Smokes) on bass. Trevor Bates is a Little Rock based songwriter and sonic alchemist blending heavy guitars, modular synths, and pedal steel into his own brand of musical esoterica.

"Indeed, Gilmore and Hancock remain two indispensable country poets and singers, capable of cramming a half-dozen classic puns or metaphors or quips into a single song. Though the image-rich “Dallas” has remained Gilmore’s calling card, even recorded by fellow Flatlander Joe Ely several times, he is a laser-sharp bard of lost-love songs, perfectly articulating how worthless a little hurt can make you feel. (And, yes, that’s Gilmore in The Big Lebowski.) Even as The Flatlanders have returned to record labels and a renewed legacy, Hancock has remained defiantly independent, running his own imprint and decamping to very rural Texas. What you may not know is that, for decades, this Flatlander has lived alongside the Rio Grande. He’s also a one-of-a-kind river guide." “In my music, what’s going on is a recognition and appreciation of the ineffable,” Gilmore noted. “With my voice, I will never be categorized outside of country. Versatile and imaginative, they skip from astral psychedelia to shuffling bucolics and leap from puckish pop to righteous garage-rock without losing momentum or mastery. Their albums deliver masterclasses on pointed songwriting, lockstep harmonies, and a devil-may-care attitude to expectations and past successes. Hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas, and possessing a voice the Onion A.V. ZOÉ BASHA & her band will be in from Dublin, Ireland along w/ Arkansas's own NICK SHOULDERS & his one man band 💥 Music starts @ 8pm sharp and as of this writing, tickets are still available at www.whitewatertavern.com All Bad, the latest album from Nick Shoulders, ultimately encapsulates everything that makes Shoulders’ inimitable form of country music so vital: a heady balance of dazzling musicianship and punk defiance, coupled with gritty eccentricity and a generational connection to the roots of the genre. With a singing style inherited from his family’s vocal lineage, Nick’s songs achieve the rare feat of imparting difficult truths while inciting a certain joyful abandon, balancing a sound forged by years of hard travel with a heartfelt reverence for the origins of country music. In the spirit of Hazel Dickens and Jimmy Driftwood, the incisive yet wildly jubilant All Badvocally objects to the reckless destruction of the natural landscape and development run rampant, while still offering plenty of joy and dance-ready rhythms. Spanning a variety of early country styles, the album’s infectious harmonies shine alongside everything from jangling cajun waltzes to surf-rock infused bluesy ballads–all tied together by a voice seemingly out of place in this century, yet ever ready to speak up about its problems. For the WWT pop-up, CALS has pulled a curated selection of adult literary fiction, classics, poetry, various art and philosophy books. Most books are priced between $3-$8. Tonight ✨ A special night of music w/ Calvin Arsenia * Bird * Cera Impala * Doors @ 7pm * Music @ 8pm * $15 at www.whitewatertavern.com Calvin Arsenia has built a reputation for turning the arts world on its head. While the harp has allowed this Kansas City native to become a man of the world (gaining followings in Paris, Edinburgh, and at the Outlyre Harpist Festival in Austria), it’s his unique ability to craft a stimulating setting at his live shows that has all eyes fixed on this conspicuous musician and his breathtaking approach to harp music. Janie Price aka “BIRD” is an award-winning half English, half Irish singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She is based between London UK and Tuscany Italy. At 15 she was the youngest ever female drummer to perform a headline show at the legendary Marquee Club in London UK. At18 she started her professional career as a session musician which has seen her play for the likes of Vanessa Mae, Emeli Sande, Roachford and Just Jack to name a few and performing on national tv and radio and touring globally including performances at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Roskilde and Marktock. Cera Impala creates songs that feel instantly familiar. Her whiskey-honeyed voice takes intimately crafted pieces to another time and place, one of dreams and magic -sensual as they are savage. `Armed with a sound like an audio-hug' this multi-instrumentalist has been heard all over the world; toured internationally with her handpicked band, The New Prohibition. She is in currently recording a double album with Tim Lane, 'Persephone' out in Fall 2025.

Tonight 💥 Sad Daddy * 8pm * Tickets @ www.whitewatertavern.com. Sad Daddy, forming in the Spring of 2010, has traveled down many a road, together and separate. The four members, Brian Martin, Joe Sundell, Rebecca Patek and Melissa Carper all conspired and united in the sudden spare time of 2020, to create their 3rd album, ‘Way Up in the Hills.” Unique to the band, all of its members sing lead and write original tunes, and the combined sound is truly a mix of American Roots music. From the sounds of early blues, jazz and jug bands to early country, folk, old-time, bluegrass, to soul and funk, they combine many influences, similar and different, creating an indefinable genre of their own they like to call Sad Daddy.

Tonight 💥 8pm Meet Juleser. A Little Rock native, his endearing, earworm-inducing guitar riffs and melodies swathe you from first listen. Jules Weinheimer made the trek to New Orleans and continues to record and produce in his cozy bedroom studio, just as he has for years being surrounded by a family of musicians. Jules began creating in the realm of hip hop beats, now finding his influence in blending this genre with his love for artists like Alex G and Wilco, and his inherent devotion to romantic lyrics and lush instrumentation. Giovanni Ventello is an indie-folk rocker from Lawrence, Kansas now based in New Orleans. As a Kansan, raised on Americana and the clever but simplistic lyrics of John Prine and Gillian Welch, Giovanni writes about the unremarkable, the monotonous, the mundane: A sock without a match and pile of old shoes become a vivid and vulnerable narrative about anxiety and autonomy. From lonesome acoustic ballads to roaring walls of distortion the music embellishes the story, carefully cradling the lyrics in gentle ambience and whining steel strings. Whether performing solo or alongside a spectacularly ragged rock band Giovanni’s songs are destined to resonate with anyone who can find significance in the wearisome. Isaac Alexander is one of the greatest all around artists we will ever meet, and in addition to playing this show, he designed this fantastic poster.

Sad Daddy returns to the White Water this Friday, January 16th 💥 Tickets are flying off the shelf, and is the case with most Sad Daddy shows, it is well on its way to selling out. Get yours for $20 at www.whitewatertavern.com Sad Daddy, forming in the Spring of 2010, has traveled down many a road, together and separate. The four members, Brian Martin, Joe Sundell, Rebecca Patek and Melissa Carper all conspired and united in the sudden spare time of 2020, to create their 3rd album, ‘Way Up in the Hills.” Unique to the band, all of its members sing lead and write original tunes, and the combined sound is truly a mix of American Roots music. From the sounds of early blues, jazz and jug bands to early country, folk, old-time, bluegrass, to soul and funk, they combine many influences, similar and different, creating an indefinable genre of their own they like to call Sad Daddy.
