An autumn cocktail: the S'mores Old Fashioned - graham cracker infused G&W Four Grain Canadian Whisky (from J.P. Wiser's), toasted marshmallow syrup, and Mole Bitters, garnished w/ toasted marshmallows, chocolate syrup, and crushed graham crackers.

I've seen plenty of signs around cautioning you not to feed the wildlife (ducks, geese, pigeons, squirrels, etc.), but this one seems oddly specific, and I highly suspect it isn't a real Conservation Ontario sign. I mean, who in their right mind is giving hallucinogens to Canada Geese?

It's turtle hatching season. Which means we're finding these little guys everywhere along the river path...and also sometimes well away from the river, headed in the wrong direction.

Breakfast for me & The Girl from the weekend Meg was at retreat w/ her writing group: Mining Camp Cornmeal Pancakes & Campfire Casserole (any excuse to use my cast iron pan).
Both recipes are from 'Food to Die For' by Amy Bruni. The Girl isn't a fan of beans, but she did enjoy the pancakes.

Sunday's project: a COBI Bricks Ukrainian MIG-29MU1 with the Brickmania Andrii "Juice" Pilshchykov minifig (which is wearing the Ukrainian Air Force cap from the COBI Ukrainian F-16AM kit I made earlier).

Rum Old Fashioned using a six year-old Panamanian rum from La Maison du Whisky's 'Transcontinental Rum Line' line of rums and the molasses syrup I made for the Bourbon Blackout a couple of weeks ago.

Watermelon-Basil Gin Smash Mocktails for @mmdaviesostrom.bsky.social & The Girl, using Ceders Wild Non-Alcoholic Gin. Served in fancy coupes, with proper garnish. The Girl drank hers pretty quickly, so it's a good thing they were mocktails (the danger of cocktails with 2oz of gin and lots of juice).

Update to the WOMA Soviet MI-24 that I made into a Czech-donated Ukrainian Army Aviation MI-24V (18th Army Aviation Brigade). The Soviet-era camo scheme can be seen on the cover of the manual. It's loading a 6-person team from the GUR/HUR 10th Separate Special Purpose Detachment for a mission.

Update to the WOMA Soviet MI-24 that I made into a Czech-donated Ukrainian Army Aviation MI-24V (18th Army Aviation Brigade). The Soviet-era camo scheme can be seen on the cover of the manual. It's loading a 6-person team from the GUR/HUR 10th Separate Special Purpose Detachment for a mission.
Our little guy was at the vet yesterday for some tests. By all accounts he was very well behaved and made a lot of new friends.

Shake the first 3 ingredients w/ ice; strain into a rocks glass filled w/ crushed ice; add more crushed ice; drizzle the blackberry liqueur over top; garnish w/ a lemon wheel & blackberries.
- 1.5oz gin

Updated #NAFO BioLab Staff, with two Brickmania NAFO Fellas (v1 & v2), three slightly panicked looking CBRN techs in biohazard suits, an Assault Raptor (BioLab Experiment No. 1990, code-named CLEVER GIRL), and a ZSU Special Service Operations Raptor Handler (who has received a weapon upgrade).
As I work on this project (see WIP photos, below), and try to get the colour scheme closer to what's represented in photo #3, as opposed to the image from the manual (see photo #2), I'm finding it interesting that said photo #2 doesn't actually reflect the instructions in some places...
