one of the things i really like about Taylor’s game is how he’s evolved it from when he first broke onto the scene. from 8 goals and 2 assists in 2022 in all comps to 4 goals and 8 assists in 2024, he’s really rounded out well.

there’s no chance in hell they come in as a next pro independent. becoming Rapids 2 wouldn’t be insane, though i don’t trust their former ownership to even have a stadium home past their next court date.

his announcement in Feb 2023 said it was a two year deal + one year option. so it's kinda semantics whether it was agreed upon before the contract ended or not, since Tormenta still held the option. just depends what was actually in there.

no insight into the particulars here, but it's possible that Tormenta picked up his option (idk if he had one) but the contract had a clause to allow him to leave if a team from another league came in for him by X date (probably 11/30). I've seen this happen before at this level.
