But as much as this episode was about grief, it was about friendship. Following someone you love into that unknown darkness, just so they don't have to walk alone. And I think that's really beautiful.

For most of us, the ocean is the closest thing to outerspace we might experience. Unexplored, operating by different physics, dark, full of strange creatures 👀

I think it's a perfect setting for talking about loss.

Apparently the ocean floor is just LITTERED with wrecks, to the point where they are an important part of the ecosystem.

& there are so many ships that have just gone missing, but have never been found, bc the ocean is terrifying.

I love this episode 💕 I love Data being a ride or die (… or kill?), I love the character development for Geordi, I love Space Pixies 🧚

Everyone on this ship is so tender with their wounded, it's so lovely. This also touched on an interest of mine: missing ships!

I'm loving the scuba analogies in this ep -- I'm surprised it hasn't come up early with all the nautical influence.

hey question for therapists: how common is it for patients to do this brooding pacing thing? was that an option? I always thought I had to sit on the couch. Was wandering and talking to the wall or a strange sculpture an option this whole time?

Is that lacuna symbolic of the uncomfortable void of uncertaintly we face when trying to grieve a missing person? The lack of resolution being inherently disquieting, even beyond the emotions of mourning?
Probably not.

Gather round, kids, it's time to contemplate the nothingness and by doing so we fill that nothingness with attention and therefore meaning ☝️

Hell yeah robo-Tron Geordi !! 🤖

I love this whole premise. He's WIRED IN to a remote robot so he can use his full array of senses to be a safety drone!
