(He/they/man I don't fuckin know) I have strong opinions about communism, anime, tabletop games (both wargames and RPGs), and sometimes my writing. I'm 24, bi, poly, ND, and taller than you. Read Umineko.

Not only is GenAI TERRIBLE for the environment, but it is a direct insult to concept artists and writers working in the industry.
It's used to cut corners and basically have to pay artists less money. Deeply disappointing

Lmao you haven't read ANY surveys of Eastern Europe on the subject then

My grandfather did something similar, except (usually) not at random and (usually) just into the middle of nowhere instead of anywhere specific.

Nah I just listen to people who actively lived under it, a majority of whom now want it back.

Maybe if you know nothing about either system or how it operated, but that's a you problem. Newsflash, life under communism wasn't the caricature that anglosphere media portrays it as.

Tbh I blame Khrushchev for naming Brezhnev the successor to Frol Koslov in the first place. The whole of Brezhnev's tenure was essentially unsalvageable.

I deny that! I deny it! Show me any proof!

The Soviet side of the invasion of Poland had remarkably few civilian casualties, I fail to see your point.

And no, Katyn doesn't count. Those were military officers, they were valid targets.

Not really, after all that chain of events led to Germany getting butt-fucked by the Soviet Union in one of the most brutal slugging matches in human history. Not a good decision for Hitler by any stretch.

Your argument only applies if you believe the last answer is the correct one, which I emphatically disagree on.

Also it wasn't a secret, like, at all. I have no idea where you got that from.

One thing basically nobody agrees on about WWII is when it started. Did it start in 1931 when the Japanese invaded Manchuria? In 1934 with the invasion of Abyssinia? In 1936 during the Spanish Civil War? In 1937 with the Marco Polo Bridge Incident? Or in 1939 with the invasion of Poland?

You will also never get me to sympathize with Finland under Mannerheim, for the same reason I don't sympathize with Germany under Hitler or Romania under Antonescu. I am perfectly okay with bad things happening to fascists, full stop.

Believe it or not I have zero problem with land acquisition in the abstract. That part I'm willing to chalk up to "such is war", depending on the circumstances. Sometimes you really can justify that, and I would argue this is a perfect example of one of those times.

A completely normal reactor design failed under an extended period without maintenance, you mean. That part does suck, but it's also something that happens a LOT in modern industry. Like, A LOT.

Don't forget that the Soviets and the Nazis had already clashed in Spain since 1936, neither was in the mood to form an alliance with the other. Both knew war was inevitable, and they agreed to a non-aggression pact with intent to buy time for preparations, which we know both undertook.

Secondly, Stalin repeatedly sent envoys to the offices of Neville Chamberlain and Edouard Daladier in attempts at brokering actual military alliances against Germany, but was refused by both.
December 17, 2025 at 11:00 PM
That's not true. First off, the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was not an alliance, it was a non-aggression pact. This is a meaningful difference because EVERY major power in Europe had non-aggression pacts with Hitler. The Soviet Union is in no way an outlier in that regard.
