Fair, the distinctions are very western Europe imposed. I learned Romania as Eastern Europe, but wiki says
"at the crossroads of Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe." My ancestors are all from either the Polish side of the Carpathian or the Ukrainian side, which definitely colours my perspective.

Are you talking about the mountain range? Because it does go through Poland and Ukraine, which are eastern Europe.

Totally agree about this. I can even produce it if I write English using Cyrillic cursive rules, though having learned both in Canada, and since getting out of elementary school, writing almost exclusively in English, and mainly scribbly lab notes at that.

👏Well done! Always better to give more notice when you can, especially when it means letting people sleep in (spouse's medical appointment was delayed 30 min, and we got notice this morning, which is what it is, but if we had known ahead of time, that would have been 30min more sleep for us).

Sexy Nidovirales (an order of enveloped, positive-strand RNA viruses, though that was technically a wiki link).

Actual last search was ORF1ab (nidovirus polyprotein gene), much less easy to make a costume out of, its representation is basically a line with coloured boxes with labels.

Stole the thought right out of my head.

Either that or precious stones, because what are they putting in that cover that makes it cost ~21.5x the price of the paperback?

Like we are past the age when CDs/CD-ROMs/DVDs are included in books, afaik?

Right?! Sigh.

I feel you. Like, not only is it a bubble, it is an environmental disaster, and worse, doesn't even result in accurate answers and is full of problematic biases, like much tech. Like, it needs to be regulated to the nth degree, and if that bursts the bubble, I won't be mad.

Always here for people getting the DME that works for them, particularly when it comes to ones where measurements matter. I hope it makes your vacation awesome! 💜
