Politics/IT nerd, trying to filter wheat from chaff of the information flood. Enjoys the promulgation of malaphors and Wildean epigrams.
We are all coming to the same realization as Mark Carney regarding our future with or without the US.

There is a deliberate attempt to restructure the world into 3 hemispheres, Americas under Trump, Asia under Xi, Russia under Putin.

Europe (and other democratic nations) will need to ally.

If it bleeds, it leads...

Gotta get those clicks.

@grok is this photo AI generated?
December 15, 2025 at 12:55 PM
It’s an AI attempting to spread fake news about Ostrovsky who was at the Bondi Chanukah event yesterday and photographed with bleeding from his scalp.

This is FAKE.

I hope they start from a position of:

Number of guns allowed to be owned by the average resident: zero

Allowed to own a single bolt action rifle: Farmers

Allowed to own/operate any other weapon: Professional feral pest eradicators, police, military.

No one else needs one.

I'm not religious, I'm a "cultural Jew", but this was like an attack at Carols by Candlelight.

There were events scheduled for the next week (the festival goes for 8 days), including in Fed Square in Melbourne, I hope that one goes ahead.

An unarmed civilian named Ahmed El Ahmad, a 43 year old Lebanese Muslim fruit shop owner, who was shot and injured by the other gunman and is in hospital recovering.

He saved lives today.

My family were heading to Caulfield when it was cancelled.

They live around the corner.

Cousins in Sydney were at a different Chanukah celebration on the northern beaches.

When they heard, the event was halted, they said Kaddish (prayer for the dead) and went home.

Lighting a candle tonight.

His name is Ahmed Al Ahmed, he's a 43 year old fruit shop owner.

The shooter knew that the weapon was no longer loaded.

It's a pump action shotgun.

His name is Ahmed Al Ahmed, a 43 year old fruit shop owner. He is in hospital after surgery from gunshots received after he disarmed one of the gunmen.

A true hero and a sign that someone's origin has nothing to do with their moral fibre or bravery.

Wow that's like half an infrastructure week away!

What a Xmas gift, you betcha.

The good thing is that tourism to the US will be really cheap in 3 years time when people decide to maybe go there again.

Leviticus 19:19 says you're not allowed to mix wool and linen in your clothes.

Let in muslin and next you'll be supporting poly-ester and all those woke fabrics!
December 8, 2025 at 11:53 AM
Yikes, this is way too early in the year.

I hope it gets under control.

"Dictator-chic" combined with "Trumpist-gold" and "Bad-baroque"

Whoever has ordered this to be built is pathetic.

And then the petrichor in the air afterwards... smell of Aussie summer.

Says the woman that provided a platform for shonky “doctors” like Dr Oz and Phil and cooker anti vaxxers like Jenny McCarthy.

She’s responsible for more deaths than car prizes.

The centre continues to poll well, as it always has in Australia, but the centre is now the ALP and the Teals, not the Liberals.

The Liberals are no longer a "party of government", especially tied to the Nationals which are now a "party for mining", not agriculture.

Is the growth of ON "sticky" or is it just disdain for LNP because they are so dysfunctional?

ON has never been able to put together a good slate of candidates, let alone an "alternative govt".

Will people choosing ON now will go back to the LNP when it comes time to vote, at least in the House?

Hope the trip goes well and you enjoy a summer Xmas :)

Personally, I think this is something that the citizens of the United States need to deal with first.

They need to hold their executive branch accountable to their laws.
December 2, 2025 at 12:31 AM
I know, but this might be considered a legitimate legal action by those governments.

The US attacked vessels in Colombian territorial waters, not international waters, so that's an act of war.
December 2, 2025 at 12:30 AM
There's nothing to stop either Venezuela or Colombia from putting out an Interpol Red Notice for arrest under their own laws.

Might make travel a bit more spicy after these people leave office.
