I’m not sure that’s true. I think it’s more purple than red. Definitely red on issues like abortion but more blue on social issues like benefits and taxes. Yes, it currently has a very popular Republican governor but its current, sole non-voting member of the US Congress is a democrat.

Even if this were true, it would be more than offset by the taxes these people pay into the system so it’s cherry picking. Most illegals pay federal and state income taxes (and receive no benefits back at all) not to mention all the local taxes such as property, sales taxes and now tariffs as well.
