I appreciate the creativity but bottom mines need significantly larger warheads than a small diameter bomb. Just throw them off boats.

For land mines you don't need a drone, you either do FASCAM or plough them.

I have heard it called the poop chute by professional people. It was mostly used as a spare fuel tank. It could buddy fuel out of that too. Though it did occasionally get hot and squirty out the back on a cat shot. Fine for the jet, usually. I've also heard it called the 'linear bomb bay'

NAA Columbus had some enlightened ideas in the 50s. Including some VG studies, the WS300A long range interceptor, XF-108 (the mach 3 superfighter) and a lenticular bomber (i.e. a nuclear armed flying saucer)

F-111's internal bay was a very weird size. I would need to look through the SOR.183 information I have but it was basically tapped out at two SRAM. There were at least two major stretch proposals, FB-111B/C and FB-111H

NTC and BATUS are both only ~1000sqmi. This used to be the purview of REFORGER FTX, to an extent, but a larger training area would be useful. Has anyone checked if there's a 50 x 50 mile box of somewhere we could rent out? What's going on in Franklin and St Lawrence Cty, NYS?

As much as I love the US campaign streamer tradition, the british tendency to put them on flags is pretty incredible too.

In light of the 28 points of idiocy, I want to remind everyone that the US never recognized the illegal Soviet occupation and annexation of the Baltic states.

Apparently Romania was offering new production AA-2 Atoll (K-3, i.e. AIM-9B) air to air missiles in 1989, which is only like 25 years after it left US production. Fascinating.

In light of the GA-ASI Gambit video which really makes a much more sane argument for CCA than most, I just want to remind everyone that there is nothing new under the sun, and the USAF was experimenting with CCA in Vietnam.

Not every missile has this, the P-700 Granit (SS-N-19 SHIPWRECK) uses a 750kg SAP-HE warhead, seen here.

I know I'm late to the modern Battleship discussion thing, but it's a very stupid idea. This is the warhead from an AS-4 KITCHEN / Kh-22 Burya. It weighs ≈1000kg. That shaped charge looks somewhere between 500 and 750mm. At a conservative estimate of 2 cone diameters you cannot carry enough armor.
