Rural Albertans are bravely speaking out about the orphan well crisis and the UCP's complicity in the clean up mess. I hope urban Albertans -- like me -- are willing to listen. ecojustice.ca/news/landown...

The people complaining were complaining about kids walking a route that has crossing guards, although we could use more of them.

Crossing guards are underrated, they definitely cut down on the number of parents driving their kids to school here.

Beyond the fear of cars there’s the possibility that some “well meaning” person might report you for letting your children exercise independence anywhere near a street with car traffic.

Kids walking to school caused a stir in the community FB chat recently… luckily most supported the parents.

This sounds like a great project!

Being intentional built around a park with green space and a play area is great, we got a playground down the street recently it’s been life changing.

The inclusion of car share built into the business model sounds great, I usually think of that as a co-op thing.

This spot’s also right next to some of the most accessible bike infrastructure in Ottawa (thinking the canal MUP). Prime location to showcase building without parking minimums.

Some of those came home from a birthday party my kids went to… all the little things like that in our small town friend group seem to come from Dollarama, so they might have them. I’ve never sought them either.

It seems like there’s real opportunity for door-to-door bollard salespeople.

Weird obsession with blaming TikTok. I somehow managed to see and read lots of posts from Gaza without having ever used that app.

I’m a bit concerned that you’re suggesting none of the chiefs who voted unanimously to call for the deal to be withdrawn bothered to read the MOU. You might have typed this up a little quick, it gives the impression of generalized condescension for all First Nations peoples.

Sadly, the wrong pronunciation is creeping int the military vernacular in the CAF as well. You let people grow beards and long hair just one time and traditions and culture are straight out the window.

To be fair, most of Canada also envies Montreal’s transit.

If we’re gonna say a rich person can’t stay rich, would that be like sentencing them to a capped income akin to a living wage instead of jail? Any earnings above that, straight to charity? Force them to liquidate assets so they can’t hide their wealth in property or investments?

If so, sounds sick.

I saw one of those fixed up on the highway the other day, beautiful little truck.

I’m convinced something like would sell if anybody could be bothered to make it.
