It looks like Mo llama is starting to bond strongly to Little Cow, an Icelandic ewe lamb born last April. They were enjoying a little sun yesterday morning while I was double checking for storm damage. Round Two of the atmospheric river starts back up today and will last all day into the night.

Some of the Gotlands this morning were being especially curious & silly. Lamby, Jammy & Isabelle love attention & will start hoofing me if I stop. Gotlands are a docile, mid sized breed. Their wool ranges from light pewter to charcoal with variation in the same fleece, making for beautiful yarn.

Your dose of Mo llama for today.

A few breakfast photos this morning as I scurry to do things between rain showers. Jammy (Gotland yearling ewe) gave me kisses this morning.

Daisy in repose last night while I was getting some handspinning done.

Your dose of Mo llama. Sun this time of year is rare. I was comparing stats w/another farm in the Valley. Last year they had 20” of rain in Nov/Dec. This year, they are at 5”. Granted they’re closer to the Cascade Range & we the Coastal Range, but the difference is similar. Also, we’ve had no frost!

We dodged the really bad weather; the southern edge was just minutes to our north these last two days. We’re drying out until Sunday, which is great for the animals. They are spreading out this morning enjoying their breakfast.

Gotland sheep flash mobs. Never enough hands to pet everyone.

A few of the animals crowding around me in between rain showers yesterday. They were being very silly. We were originally predicted to be inundated by an atmospheric river today and tomorrow, but it looks like it will be mostly tomorrow.

Pretty Lettie yesterday morning while there was a break in the rain. She is nowhere as sweet as her mom Laurie, but I love her coloring. #angoragoats

The rain has returned though the worst of it (an atmospheric river) won’t be until early next week. The indoor dogs are dejected, but Louis the boxer is making do by sitting in front of the fire. #pnwweather

I’ve been working on Moo-flon to get her more comfortable w/ affection & handling. She only likes to be touched in certain places. Not on the side or the side of her face. More on her sternum. I’m encouraged she lets me touch her at all since Icelandic sheep are a primitive breed. #icelandicsheep

Laurie angora goat doe coming in for a close up. She heard I had gas station bananas sent to her with love from the ladies there.

It’s the end of our pumpkin/squash harvest. Fitting for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Miss Hazel also came over with her perfect curls. She’s one of my Bluefaced Leicester x Gotland cross ewes. Her fleece always wins ribbons in her long wool category— sometimes winning 1st place!

Little Cow makes a cameo yesterday morning. She’s such an affectionate, sweet, silly girl. Plus, she’s a chatterbox!

Mo llama hanging out with the sheep at the hay cart. They are getting more comfortable with him now that he’s stopped galloping around them with excitement.

The Great Pyrenees molt from Rosa Barks. I thought it was a little late in the season for shedding but she’s definitely making snowballs outside.

More autumn colors with my Badass Hooves

Laurie and Lettie perching on a boulder on the winter slope. The goats love climbing and being on a rocky surface helps with their hoof health during our rainy season.

Pretty pictures of some of the animals surrounded by fall colors. Everyone has returned home for a few months, which usually coincides with the worst of rainy season and lambing/kids. So glad to have them near me again.
