To be clear, these mean very little to me as a Gundam newbie. Apparently Ariel is in the Newtype set, and I didn't get any Barbatos. But, hey! Cool robots! Hopefully catch up and learn about them someday!

She was telling it things like "I don't think the last response was empathetic enough." Like, girl, you're asking a copy-and-paste robot when you are literally the customer service manager!

A huge lesson I wish I could beat into any corporation's head is that the easiest way to gain a customer's loyalty is to not ask for the customer's loyalty. This applies to many different fields.

Unfortunately, most of them don't actually make their money from customers anymore so, you know

Anyway, it's 3am and I have nothing else to do in this night audit, so that's my thoughts.

If anyone wants to be "the next Steam," the first lesson they should learn is that Steam works because it's not constantly trying to push the fact that it's The Valve Corporation's Steam Games Launcher

Steam just works. It does what you want it to do, and lets you organize it the way you want. It doesn't load you down trying to be The Steam Brand. It's run by a weird dude who's fine with the money he's making and fucks off to Vegas to let it run itself half the time without asking for more

Whether it's trying to get me to engage with their Brand or harvest analytics, other launchers just give a ton of issues to not just the gameplay but often trying to stream those games on top of it.

The best way to describe it is a mix of blatant greed and Trying Too Hard

They tried to gamify stuff over the years with trading cards and
whatnot, but it was always goofy, lightweight stuff rather than buying into The Steam Brand or whatever. I can't load any other storefront without it immediately loading down my PC with shit on top of the game itself

I've been a Steam stan for like 20+ years now. It has all the games I've ever purchased, and I can even redownload ones that are no longer for sale. It just works without a ton of analytics-crawlers every time I load. It's a library with a storefront attached, and the library part is important.
