The irony of machine learning turning into this GenAI monstrosity is that it would be wonderful to have a tutor who can check my work while I self-learn at times when teachers need sleep. Instead GenAI is not only disenfranchising educators, but creating "diseducation" systems for experts.

I think, if anything, it shows how little universities are really 'ours,' as consultants often have more influence than collective decision-making.

Interesting that the article frames this as "women are being left behind in the technological revolution" instead of, maybe they're just more thoughtful and not jumping on a senseless hype.
