no plan for a native app as installable PWA seems like the best of both world for now.
Sideloading is supported, so you can add your own rom and.. it works offline. no need to load everytime.
You can also export your roms from season1 if you want to play somewhere else.

3- The games are yours so you can export the roms to your favorite emulator OR you can sideload your other roms to play with your Playtile!

1- You don't need a subscription, it's a "season pass" model, so you pay once and play the games forever
2- Buying the season is quite a bargain as the value of the games is superior than the value of the season+the playtiles controller
