I started 2025 with eight psychological thrillers under my belt (plus three German translations). Number nine is written and at copy edit stage and (after a housebound day with nasty colds during which my husband helped me to thrash out the plot of book 10) I am ready to start the next.

Line edits are done and now it’s time to enjoy the beautiful morning. By the way, this boardwalk was the setting for The Night Out which was my seventh psychological thriller.

On a day like this when the sun is shining and you’ve almost finished the edits for your next book, you have no choice but to take a walk by the sea. This is Shoreham, looking suitably photogenic from this side of the river.

I snuck off to beautiful Madeira for a few days after finishing the structural edits for psychological thriller number 9. I love a banana plantation!

It’s been months since I’ve been on here and I must try harder. I’m in the thick of line edits for psychological thriller number nine and need some distraction.

5 years ago, my first book baby What She Saw (set in the Lake District) was published after having won the Flash500 Novel competition two years earlier. It was the start of my novel writing journey with Bookouture and I had no idea that five years later I’d have eight on the shelves!

Psychological thriller number 8 written, edited and now on pre-order. I think I deserve lunch in my happy place.
