i hope this is indicative of a societal trend

although i used to be a cashier so ymmv

my whole strategy was "oh no one's in line for the self check out but there's a long line for the one register" but it was the opposite

i'm guessing that everyone in that line decided that self checkout was faster even though the cashier line had a steady stream of people moving through it while all of the self checkout registers were stalled.

one of my mottos is that life is too short to be in a hurry. when i hurry i make careless mistakes and things take longer, and also it makes everything less enjoyable.

this guy was standing in a long line at self checkout with all of his groceries hugged to his chest and his phone under one ear.

yes i want e-ink and nothing else

i don't love airports but i like having long layovers so i can find my gate and get food. and i also think there are interesting things in the airport.

although i guess it's not especially sensitive to say "lol why is there a hearse at your house?"

i dunno how we're expected to be able to make coffee before we've had coffee
