Sedimentologist mainly interested in ice sheets and sea-level changes. Professor trying to make more people care about what those sediments are telling us.
We've come a long way in our understanding of the Antarctic Ice Sheet history, even while we have a ways to go to know how fast future changes are coming. I'm lucky to be a part of John Anderson's group. See story on his career: naturalsciences.rice.edu/milestones-s...

Overall I think it is critical to make sure our protests don’t focus too much just on a couple people. There are lots of enablers that need to be held accountable. But I was proud to march alongside this guy in Houston today. @maddow.msnbc.com

If you see this post, quote with a bridge from your gallery.

I hope a class field trip photo—-on a bridge—-will count. Deception Pass, WA.

Winter trips to Woods Hole have limited restaurant options. Once again, a meal at this spot and there are scientists I know from elsewhere in the country that just happen to be here. Here’s to WHOI and the future of scientific ocean drilling.

I am proud to say that I have convinced folks to move our departmental account over here, which freed me to close mine for good. It feels great to be free of it!

Dating these beautiful sediments has helped show us when Thwaites Glacier unpinned and, since it was at the same time as its neighbor, a bit about how it might have retreated.
