Jonathan Morgan (’00) has more points of connection with United than most. Not only is he an alum, former trustee, and donor, but he was also interim president before he even got his degree. These days, the connection he most treasures is his deep and enduring friendship with Rev. Dr. Wilson Gates.

Art has the tremendous power to restore us in a time when our world seems to make no sense and we need a moment of respite and encouragement from our daily struggles. A single photograph of a flower or a laughing child can buoy our spirit to carry on.

Rachel Bly, a former oncology nurse, decided to move into patient care as a chaplain. At United, she found the connections and resources she needed to make that transition.

Music was Yolanda Williams’ (’20) first passion. She is an accomplished pianist and professional singer. As a teenager, she also found God, but she didn't act on that impetus until more recently.
